After School Reading Buddies Week 2

Week 2 of Reading Buddies was a blast, as we took a trip to Africa, to visit the county Uganda. Children were ready to go and start our program happily!

We started class with snack and then went on a class expedition to discover where to find Uganda on a map of Africa. Once we found the country, it was time to dive in and get creative! Children were invited to make their own goats, just like Beatrice's.

Once children finished their goat projects they were invited to free time while others continued working. Once our goat gallery was completed. It was time for reading! We explore our cool words and explored words we may not hear within the U.S. often. Then we traveled abroad to visit our new friend Beatrice, in the book, Beatrice's Goat.

We are really off to a great start and looking forward to week 3, as we dive into our next book, A bargain for Frances.
