Our friends are the best gift--Lamplighters

Today we launched our first Lamplighters Club of the season and it went great. It is always amazing to see the excitement of the children to come to church for an event just for them. Today not only did they come, but they brought friends! Perfect for today's After School Lamplighters Club.

Starting with making friendship trail mix and a friendship relay, we move right into Bible time learning about a very familiar Bible parable, "The good Samaritan", we learned that we must treat all people kindly and be a friend, just like Jesus is a friend to us!

From there the games began, all themed around friendship! First we were all wrapped up, proving the fact that friends are the best gift! Then we went outside to play Friendship Frisbee, but that's not all!

We had Cookie Wars! The theme was friendship and children were asked to create a cookie based on just that--The hearts came out. It was very clear that our students relate friendship with love and kindness.

Upon closing each student was given a special gift bag with items to remind them Jesus is our Savior and our Best Friend!
